Volunteer Drive for Little Smiles of North Carolina
Who We Are
“Little Smiles” is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides toys, games, DVD’s, computers, VIP outings, celebrity meet and greets, concert, sporting event tickets, theme park tickets, fun food runs, nerf gun wars and much, much more…for children in local hospitals, hospices and shelters. We pride ourselves on being local, immediate, and hands on; and our Board of Directors is comprised of all volunteers.
Our mission is to help children escape their everyday pain and allow them to be a kid again, even if it’s for a short period of time. We respond to the needs of the children and provide whatever we can to make their day a little brighter. We help put a smile back on the faces of children who need it most.
If you’re interested in joining our group come to the information meeting on February 3 at 6:30 at the Pelican Café in Cornelius, NC. RSVP at email@example.com , leaving your name and email address. Just ask for Little Smiles to learn how you can help put a smile on a child’s face.

Michael Scott Mater Foundation - a local non-profit competing for 250K in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge
Michael Scott Mater Foundation (MSMF) located in Charlotte is currently in the running for the 250K category in the Pepsi Refresh Project for this month. A win would grant us $250,000 to support our Youth Empowerment Assistance Program (YEAP) – which is a four week vocational training program that will teach Charlotte’s inner city youth about leadership, marketing, business development, IT/PC configuration, networking skill, customer service, and communications skills. Students will be mentored by professionals from the local community and upon completion of the program, graduates will be placed in paid internships and local employment where they will practice and enhance the skills they have acquired.
Pepsi Refresh Project grants are awarded to those organizations that receive the highest number of votes from the public. With over 1,200 total contestants and only two winners awarded in each category, the competition is fierce!
Voting is simple and we need your vote – daily – to help us win the Pepsi Refresh Project.
How to vote:
Visit www.refresheverything.com/yeap and click “Vote for this idea”.
To text vote: Text 102573 to Pepsi (73774).

We NEED your help!
The Humane Society of Charlotte is looking for someone to donate a bistro style table for use in our events! We regularly participate in festivals, trade shows, and other events and need a high top, round table to compliment our setup! We have had to cut back on expenditures like these and if someone would like to donate this we would put it to good use. We have a tablecloth to put on it so condition is not an issue for us! We can provide a receipt for tax purposes. Please contact Heather - email@example.com.
